Keeneland to Restrict Simulcast Signal

Several wagering outlets, the majority of them outside of the United States, will not be offered the simulcast signal for Keeneland's fall meeting Oct. 7-29, officials announced Thursday.

"We continue to be deeply concerned about both the lack of regulatory oversight and the need for industry standards," said Keeneland President Nick Nicholson.

Repeating an earlier call, Nicholson said: "Racing needs to have a 'national office of racing integrity' that establishes uniform standards for all simulcast sites. We call for the industry to work together to create this office immediately.

"A fundamental strength of pari-mutuel wagering is our state regulatory system," he continued. "Every outlet that has access to our pools should be responsible to a government regulatory body."
