Archers Bay's First Winner

Canadian champion and classic winner Archers Bay came up with his first winner when his son Kent Ridge won July 5 at Woodbine. Bred by Eugene Melnyk, Kent Ridge scored at 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:05.08 for Melnyk and his wife, Laura. Archers Bay (Silver Deputy--Adorned by Val de l'Orne) stood at Windfields Farm near Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, prior to his death last fall. The Melnyks raced Archers Bay with Iris Bristow.
