filly was bought by agent Respite Farm for $160,000 Monday, the top price of the opening session at the three-day Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearling Sale at Newtown Paddocks in Lexington.

There were 282 yearlings offered for the first day of the sale, extended to three days this year from two previously, with 192 sold. The gross was $3,267,700, with an average price of $17,019 and a median of $8,750.
A chestnut filly by Awesome Again
produced by the graded stakes-placed Beloved By All (by Rubiano) was purchased for $145,000 by James McIngvale, the second-highest price of the day. She was consigned by Pam Littrell's Viking Stud Inc.
In 2004, Fasig-Tipton sold 511 yearlings for $8,317,200 during a two-day sale, a decline of 9.8% from the 2003 auction. The average price of $16,276 was off 6.8% and median price of $8,000 dropped 11.1% last year.
The auction resumes Tuesday and will run through Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. each day.
