Brisnet.com has introduced a series of three online handicapping contests. The three contests are separate events with the first tournament held Saturday, July 26, the initial weekend of racing at both Del Mar and Saratoga. With those two tracks accounting for the majority of the contest races, it has been dubbed the $15,000 Brisnet.com East-West Clash. The upcoming contest is based on the same format of the recently concluded Brisnet.com Online Handicapping Challenge, which is a qualifier for Las Vegas. Although this contest is not a qualifier for the Vegas championship, the prize structure offers payoffs down to 35th place. The contest is free to play for members of Brisnet.com.The $15,000 Brisnet.com East-West Clash asks each player to select one primary horse and one alternate (in the event of a scratch) in each of 10 contest races. The return will be based on hypothetical $2 win and place wagers on each primary selection. The player with the highest return on investment from the 10 plays will be the grand prize winner. The next two contests in the series will take place in August and October, respectively. Further details about specific dates will be released on the Brisnet.com website.
