Lone Star Park reached an agreement Tuesday to transfer its 2004 Quarter Horse dates to Sam Houston Park, which would allow Lone Star to conduct a fall Thoroughbred meet around the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships.

Lone Star, which will be a first-time host of the Breeders' Cup in 2004, submitted to the Texas Racing Commission Tuesday a dates application for next year that reflects the change, general manager Jeff Greco told the Dallas Morning News. Lone Star has applied for two Thoroughbred meets next year -- a 61-day meet from April 15 to July 11 and a 19-day World Championship season that would run Oct. 1-31.

Additionally, Retama Park has asked to transfer its 2004 Quarter Horse dates to Sam Houston. The commission has until July 9 to approve the changes.
