Leading Australian sire Redoute's Choice will be bred to a limited number of mares on Northern Hemisphere time at John Messara's Arrowfield Stud near Scone in New South Wales.
A 9-year-old son of Danehill, Redoute's Choice will be bred to about 25 mares. "We want to give him a decent rest before next season," said Messara, who chose not to shuttle him because of insurance considerations.
Redoute's Choice, who was produced from the Canny Lad mare Shantha's Choice, is the sire of Australia's highest-priced yearling of all time, which cost $2.5 million. He is completing a Southern Hemisphere season in which he will cover about 175 mares, plus free returns from the 2004 season.
