Arapahoe Park, the only Thoroughbred racing facility in Colorado, has joined the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA). This will mark the first time that the Aurora, Colo., racetrack has participated in the national organization."We are very excited to bring Colorado horse racing into the NTRA," said Sean Beirne, vice president of racing and simulcast at Arapahoe Park. "We have a strong history of racing in this state and our company (BLB Investors, LLC) has made strong commitments to live racing in the state of Colorado. This is just another example of how they intend to move forward in this state with the focus on racing. It is a great opportunity for a smaller racing facility like Arapahoe Park to take advantage of the recourses extended to us by a national organization. Our plan is to also work diligently with the NTRA to involve our horsemen in the organization as well.""Arapahoe Park's membership continues a trend that has led to a record level of member commitments beginning in 2006," said Keith Chamblin, senior vice president of industry relations and marketing for the NTRA. "We look forward to Arapahoe's involvement and participation in NTRA programs and initiatives."
