William Inglis to Offer $667,120 Race For 2-Year-Olds in 2005

The Australian sale company William Inglis & Son will offer a new Aus$1 million ($667,120 in U.S. funds) race for 2-year-olds in the fall of 2005 at Melbourne. The 1,200-meter Inglis Championship will be for graduates of the Classic, Premier, and Premier II sales.

The race will have 16 starters and all will receive a minimum of Aus $10,000 ($6,671) apiece. The winner's share of the purse will be Aus$580,000 ($386,930). A bonus of Aus$50,000 ($33,560) will be paid to the breeder of the race's winner.
