Michael Tabor's juvenile Antonius Pius tallied a half-length victory in Sunday's Anheuser Busch Railway Stakes (Ire-II) under a hand ride from Mick Kinane at The Curragh.
The heavy 4-7 favorite provided trainer Aidan O'Brien with his sixth Railway win in seven years. The Danzig colt was shaken up after being bumped in the final furlong of the six-furlong test by the runner-up Spanish Ace, but came on again for Kinane. Il Pirata was third. The time was 1:13.5.
Antonius Pius could take on Coventry winner Three Valleys in the Phoenix Stakes at The Curragh on Aug. 10, O'Brien said.
