Edited from a Monmouth Park release

Edward P. Evans' Summer Colony will carry topweight of 120 pounds Saturday for the $300,000 Molly Pitcher Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II). At this point it looks like the grade I winner could face a small group in the race. Only Enjoy and Alchemilla are definites for the races, although at least four other horses are considered possible for the race.

Summer Colony won the grade I Personal Ensign Handicap last year and won three other graded stakes races. At Monmouth Park she carried 119 pounds while competing in the 2002 Molly Pitcher. She finished second to Atelier in the 1 1/8-mile event.

Others expected for this year's Molly Pitcher are John J. Greely 3rd's Enjoy (114); Alexander & Groves' Alchemilla (113). Possibles include Sumaja US Stable's Wild Spirit (117); Debby Oxley's Forest Secrets (116); Stronach Stables' Winning Chance (115); and Elizabeth Walsh's She's Got the Beat (112).

The Molly Pitcher is part of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Summer Pick 3, a bet comprising three stakes at three different tracks. Monmouth will offer the bet on Saturday.

The Pick 3, a $1 minimum wager, will have Monmouth's $300,000 Molly Pitcher Breeders' Cup Handicap as the last race, with a post time of 5:44 p.m. It follows the Mother Goose Stakes (gr. I) from Belmont and the Arlington Classic (gr. IIT) from Arlington Park.

The first event has a post time of 5:12 p.m. and the second goes off at 5:27 p.m. The Pick 3 will be offered as part of the Belmont racing card, as Race 9. The races will be televised live as part of a one-hour show on the CBS network that starts at 5 p.m. Caton Bredar, Randy Moss and Gary Seibel will host the show from Monmouth.
