First Winner for Claudius

Texas stallion Claudius scored his first winner from his first starter when Hi Teck Man posted his first win in his second career start in a 4 1/2 furlong maiden special weight contest on June 21 at Ruidoso Downs.
Hi Teck Man was bred in Texas by his owner Hassel R. Spraberry and is out of the Corwyn Bay mare Missy Cherub. He is trained by Johnnie Nall.
Graded-stakes winner Claudius (Majestic Light-Classy Ellie, by Irish River) set and holds the stakes record in the 1 1/16-mile Lamplighter Handicap (gr. IIIT), getting the distance in 1:41.3.
Claudius stands at His Spectacular Glory Ministry and Stables near Lubbock, Texas. His 2003 fee is $2,000.
