Irish bred Vespone made all the running and comfortably held off the late charge of Magistretti to win the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris (Fr-I) for 3-year-olds at Longchamp Sunday.

Ridden by Christophe Lemaire, the Nicolas Clement-trained colt, winner of the Prix Jean Prat in his previous start, set a good clip and won the 1 1/4-mile test on a good to soft course in 2:01.1.

Dante winner Magistretti, trained by Neville Callaghan for Michael Tabor, came home well for Christophe Soumillon but ran out of room before reaching the impressive winner, who finished 1 1/2 length in front. Look Honey closed steadily for third, beaten by two lengths, after rearing at the start.

Lateen Sails, ridden by Frankie Dettori, was a disappointing fourth after stalking the pace into the straight.

A pair of Aidan O'Brien-trained contenders, Alberto Giacometti and Spartacus, were sixth and last, respectively, in the 11-horse field.

Vespone, who was 5-2 in th public odds, is a chestnut colt by Llandaff from the Alysheba mare Vanishing Pirate.
