Peace Rules preparing for Derby rematch in Haskell.
Edmund Gann's Peace Rules, winner of the Blue Grass Stakes and Louisiana Derby, demonstrated his sharpness Tuesday morning, breezing a half-mile in :46 2/5 with Rudy Rodriguez aboard, galloping out 5 furlongs in :59 2/5.

Trainer Bobby Frankel is pointing the son of Jules for the $1 million Haskell Invitational, where he is expected to take on Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Funny Cide. Frankel said he'll also nominate Peace Rules for the July 6 Dwyer Stakes. If the colt runs big in the Haskell, Frankel is contemplating sending him back to California for the Pacific Classic against older horses. Another Frankel colt who could run in the Dwyer is Gann's Midas Eyes, winner of the Swale and Derby Trial. The son of Touch Gold was just beaten on the wire in a game effort in the recent Riva Ridge Stakes in the slop.

Frankel said Belmont Stakes winner Empire Maker has been galloping steadily. The son of Unbridled will make his return in the Jim Dandy Stakes on Aug. 3, the same day as the Haskell. Frankel won the Jim Dandy and Travers last year with Medaglia d'Oro, who is scheduled to work at Belmont tomorrow. The son of El Prado likely will make his next start in the Aug. 2 Whitney Stakes. Also working tomorrow will be two-time Santa Anita Handicap winner Milwaukee Brew, who is being targeted for the Pacific Classic.

Frankel could be represented in the July 5 Suburban Handicap by Blue Boat, impressive winner of a 1 1/8-mile allowance feature last week. Another Frankel star, Wild Spirit, winner of the grade II Shuvee Handicap, has recovered from a case of the hives, and is being pointed for the Delaware Handicap.
