490 Juveniles to be Offered at Ocala Sale

The Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2003 June Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age gets underway Tuesday.

A total of 490 juveniles and 22 older horses have been cataloged for the two-day sale, which continues on June 18. Both sessions are continuous and will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Hip No. 252, a filly by Shamrock Ridge, worked the Under Tack Show's fastest three eighths on Sunday, stopping the timer in :33 2/5. Out of Sophisticatedblend, by Silver Buck, the gray or roan filly is consigned by Equine Legacy Farm (Tony and Robin Hendrix), Agent.

The June Sale's fastest quarter was turned in by Hip No. 247, a filly by Cherokee Run out of stakes winner Social Director, by Deputy Minister, who worked the distance on Saturday in :21 1/5. Agent Niall Brennan Stables, consigned the dark bay or brown filly.

Four horses shared honors for the Under Tack Show's fastest eighth-mile breeze, each stepping the distance in :10 1/5. Hip No. 107, consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, is a chestnut filly by Hennessy out of Misedge, by Miswaki, a full sister to graded stakes winner Misil. Hip No. 178 is a chestnut filly by Kipper Kelly out of Real Estate Pat, by Medieval Man, consigned by Grace Full Oaks, Agent. Both worked on Saturday.

On Sunday, a pair worked the same time. Hip No. 275, consigned by Remedy Farm, Agent, is a gray or roan filly by Double Honor out of stakes placed Sweet Remedy, by Dr. Carter, a half sister to stakes winner Sweet Nanette. Hip No. 493 is Fortune's Glitter, a 3-year-old bay filly by Oliver's Twist out of Lady Llttering, by Glitterman, a half sister to stakes placed Sun Fete and Rare Privilige, consigned by Thoroughstock, Agent.
