Defending Champ Sky Jack Out of Gold Cup

Sky Jack, who finished sixth in a tough allowance race on the grass at Hollywood Park Friday night in his first start since undergoing a third knee surgery in September, will not defend honors in the Hollywood Gold Cup July 13, according to trainer Doug O'Neill.

"I thought he ran great, real game and gutty, but we thought he might need a race or two and have ruled out the Gold Cup," said O'Neill. "We'll probably look for a similar type of race on the dirt around the end of the meet."
