Juan Carlos Bago's Argentine stud Haras Firmamento has purchased the majority interest in U.S. based stallion Romanov, and now owns complete interest in the 9-year-old son of Nureyev. Romanov, who shuttled to Haras Firmamento in the past from his base at John T.L. Jones Jr.'s Walmac International near Lexington, is being readied for the upcoming Southern Hemisphere season. There are no plans to have him return to Walmac for next year's breeding season.
Romanov, who was produced from the Affirmed mare Morning Devotion, was a group II winner in England and twice classic-placed by way of third-place finishes in the Epsom Derby (Eng-I) and Irish Two Thousand Guineas (Ire-I). His first runners are 3-year-olds.
