, an Eclipse and Cartier Awards winner, will stand in 2007 at Darley Japan Stallion Complex on the island of Hokkaido. The 10-year-old son of Rahy
out of the Nijinsky II mare Jood is based at Darley's main farm, Dalham Hall Stud, near Newmarket, England.
"After the success of Jalisco Light (a Japanese group winner) and several other good horses in Japan, it made sense for Darley to send Fantastic Light to stand there," Sam Bullard, director of stallions at Darley, told the Racing Post
. "It is a definite possibility that Fantastic Light will return to Europe. It is certainly not a one-way ticket, especially as he has several horses to look forward to next year, including New Guinea."
Fantastic Light, who has sired six stakes winners, earned a 2001 Eclipse Award as best grass male after winning the Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. IT) in course-record time at Belmont Park. He also was that year's Cartier's Horse of the Year.
