Senor Swinger Back to Turf for Jefferson Cup

After an unsuccessful stop on the Visa Triple Crown trail, Robert and Beverly Lewis' Senor Swinger returns to the grass this weekend at Churchill Downs and looms as a strong favorite for Saturday's $200,000-added Jefferson Cup (gr. IIIT).

The Bob Baffert-trained son of El Prado scored an impressive 2 1/2-length victory in the $100,000-added Crown Royal American Turf (gr. III) in his turf debut on Kentucky Oaks Day. He has been installed the as the 7-5 morning-line favorite in a field of seven set for the 1 1/8 mile turf test.
Among the horses set to challenge Senor Swinger is Claiborne Farm's Remind, a Bill Mott-trained son of Deputy Minister who was the runner-up in the Crown Royal American Turf.
