Belmont in National TV Spotlight on Friday

Included in the plethora of broadcast and print stories about Funny Cide and his quest for the Visa Triple Crown will be three features Friday on national network television programs.

On NBC's "Today Show," the owners of Sackatoga Stable will be interviewed.

Between 7-9 a.m. (EDT), CBNC Network senior economics reporter Steve Liesman will examine the business side of the breeding of Funny Cide. Included among those interviwed by Liesman in Lexington, Ky. earlier this week were Ray Paulick, editor-in-chief of The Blood-Horse; Doug Cauthen, president of WinStar Farm, where Funny Cide's sire Distorted Humor stands at stud; and John Prather, the bloodstock adviser who planned the sire and dam mating that produced the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner.

Later Friday, PBS' "News Hour With Jim Lehrer" (check local listings for time) will include an interview with Steve Haskin, national correspondent for The Blood-Horse.
