Jockey Garrett Gomez rides Plenty of Light to victory in the Spinster Stakes at Keeneland.
Aaron and Marie Jones' Three Chimneys Spinster Stakes (gr. I) winner Plenty of Light will miss the Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) due to a minor leg injury.
"She came up with a little (filling in an) ankle and she hadn't been to the track in the last two days, so we decided to go ahead and take her out of consideration," said trainer Elliott Walden.
Walden indicated that the injury was not serious but will end Plenty of Light's 2000 campaign.
"The X-rays are clean," he said. "We'll put her up and wait until next year. I was hoping to make the Falls City (at Churchill Downs on Nov. 23), but I'm just going to put her away for the year."
Plenty of Light (Colony Light--Iceycindy, by Northrop) has won four of six starts on the year and five of seven career starts.
The Joneses also own likely Distaff favorite Riboletta, trained by Eduardo Inda.
