Edited from a NYRA releaseTrainer Todd Pletcher won the Flash Stakes in 1999 with More Than Ready. He appears to hold a strong hand in this year's running with a two-horse entry of Chapel Royal and Korsakoff in Friday's 103rd running of this five-furlong dash for 2-year-olds. Both colts are owned in part by Michael Tabor and will be coupled in the wagering. In 2001 the $100,000 race was upgraded to a grade III event. Six 2-year-olds were entered for this year's running of the Flash. Chapel Royal remains the most dominant 2-year-old maiden winner seen in New York this spring. A colt by Montbrook, he won his May 15th debut by more than nine lengths under jockey John Velazquez. Velazquez is back aboard Friday. Korsakoff won his debut in early April at Keeneland in convincing gate-to-wire fashion, but failed to fire when finishing sixth in the May 3rd Three Chimneys Juvenile Stakes at Churchill Downs. Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens rides. The Field For Friday's grade III Flash, from the rail out.
