Champion Xtra Heat, who was bought privately by S. David Plummer and partners' ClassicStar last November for $1.5 million, has been pronounced in foal to leading sire Gone West. The 5-year-old daughter of Dixieland Heat was impregnated off one cover, on May 10, at Mill Ridge Farm near Lexington and pronounced in foal May 25. She resides at ClassicStar near Versailles, Ky.
Xtra Heat, who was produced from the Hatchet Man mare Begin, raced for trainer John E. Salzman Sr. in partnership with Harry Deitchman and Kenneth Taylor. Her resultant foal will have Mr. Prospector on the top half of the pedigree and Northern Dancer on the bottom.
