French-bred Precision, using a powerful move down the center of the track, ran down star mare Elegant Fashion to register an upset in Sunday's $1,025,811 Hong Kong Champion & Chafer Cup (HK-I) at Sha tin Race Course.
Ridden by Australian Brett Prebble for trainer David Oughton, the 5-year-old son of Anabaa won the final race in the Hong Kong Triple Crown by a half-length over heavily-favored Elegant Fashion. River Dancer was third, two lengths behind the winner. The final time for the 1 1/2-mile feature was 2:30.4.
Before Sunday, Precision was best known for upsetting Paolini by a nose in the Hong Kong Cup (HK-I) at 64-1 at the international race series at Sha Tin On Dec. 15.
Wu Sai-wing owns Precision, who has five wins in 22 starts and earnings of more than $3.1 million.
