Porlezza and jockey Olivier Peslier overtook The Trader in the final furlong and went on to post her second straight victory in the Prix du Gross-Chene (Fr-II) for fillies and mares at Chantilly.

The 4-year-old French bred daughter of Sicyos defeated the Irish bred The Trader by three-quarters of a length. The Trader was disqualified from second and placed third for squeezing third-place finisher Zipping close to home. The five furlongs on a good course was completed in :56.8.

The Trader had closed on the outside to briefly lead, but veered left to her left, causing interference to Zipping, who had made steady progress from the rear to bid for the lead. But Porlezza finished strongly under Peslier, who waited patiently for his opportunity after racing close to the front throughout.
