Lloyd Madison Farm's Champali, winner of the Iroquois (gr. III) and runner-up to Midas Eyes in the Derby Trial (gr. III) breezed a strong half-mile Saturday in 48.80 at Churchill Downs.

It was the first work for the Greg Foley-trained son of Glitterman since a bout with colic knocked him out of the Preakness (gr. I). Tammy Fox was aboard for the breeze over a "fast" track, which ranked 13th among 47 at the distance.

"He went good and did it on his own," said Foley. "I was happy with it."

Champali is expected to run in the $100,000 Northern Dancer at one mile for 3-year-olds on June 14.
