Snow Cone, Perfect Motion Vie in Herecomesthebride

Live Oak Plantation’s Snow Cone, a troubled fourth in the Tropical Park Oaks at Calder on New Year’s Day, and returns as a formidable contender against seven rival 3-year-old fillies in Sunday’s $150,000 Herecomesthebride Stakes (gr. IIIT) on the turf at Gulfstream Park.

Trainer Marty Wolfson has his first call jockey Eddie Castro back aboard Snow Cone in the 1 1/8-mile test. They'll need some help with a solid pace up front to produce the filly's best stretch-running move. Prior to the good effort in the Tropical Oaks, the Florida homebred daughter of Cryptoclearance had won two of three previous tries on grass, including a victory in the Georgia Debutante.

Likely to vie for the favorite’s role in Sunday’s race with Snow Cone will be Lisa and Eliah Kahn’s Perfect Motion with jockey Kent Desormeaux aboard for trainer Ken McPeek. The chestnut daughter of Wild Event finished second, beaten a half-length in the Tropical Oaks with Snow Cone fourth. She since finished second as the favorite in a Gulfstream allowance on Mar. 11.

Also in the field is Communique, third-place finisher behind Audacious Chloe and 2006 champion juvenile filly Dreaming of Anna in  Gulfstream's Gaily Gaily on Feb. 25.
