From track reports
Jockey Club Gold Cup winner Evening Attire breezed five furlongs over Belmont's training track rated good in 1:02 2/5 with exercise rider Danny Vogt up. The 5-year-old colt has not run yet in 2003. This was his fifth work of the year.

"They're talking about rain again tomorrow and I got tired of waiting around," trainer Pat Kelly said. "He doesn't mind a wet track anyway. We were just trying to stretch his legs."

Kelly said that Evening Attire is "not too close" to a race.

"(Owner) Mr. Grant wanted to run him in the Mass 'Cap, but once that race was cancelled, we were in no rush," Kelly said. "We haven't forced anything and there's a race every couple of weeks. We'll let him tell us when he's ready. He should be back in action for the Suburban."

The grade I, $500,000 Suburban will be contested at 1 1/4 miles on July 5. Evening Attire was fourth behind E Dubai in last year's Suburban.
