Miss Bridget Jones Stars in Stonerside

Miss Bridget Jones dueled with favored Letithappencaptain into the stretch and drew away to a three-length victory in Saturday's $150,000 Stonerside Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Lone Star Park.
Ridden by Jamie Theriot for owners Turf Express Inc. & David Hulkewicz and leading trainer Cole Norman, the Kentucky-bred daughter of Peaks and Valleys won by three lengths over Souris in a seven-furlong time of 1:22 2/5. City Sleeper was third as Letithappencaptain faded to fifth at odds of 2-1.
The leaders clicked through fractions of :22, :44 and 1:09 before Miss Bridget Jones took command in the stretch., pulling away under urging from Theriot. Souris rallied four-wide to get second by 3/4-length over 25-1 City Sleeper.
Miss Bridget Jones was making her first stakes appearance after winning a second-level allowance last month at Lone Star. She won her maiden race at Hollywood Park in December.
The winner paid $8.40, $5 and $4. Souris returned $7.80 and $5.40. The show price on City Sleeper was $6.80.
