Florida horseman Bob Candow died May 15 in Ocala, Fla., from health complications. He was 62.
Candow, who arrived in Ocala from Boston in 1972, started as feed supplement salesman before becoming a major player as a consignor and in handling stallion syndications in the Sunshine State. At one time, his Southeast Livestock Agency ranked as one of Florida's premier consignors.
In 1975, Candow bought the first five acres of what became Bolaro Farm near Ocala. He later became part owner of DunHill Stud.
