Wild Rush Filly Tops CTHS Ontario Division Juvenile Auction

A Wild Rush filly sold for $72,796 ($100,000 in Canadian funds) Thursday to top the sale of 2-year-olds in training conducted by the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society's Ontario division. The auction was held at Woodbine.
The filly was produced from the 16-year-old stakes-winning Dauphin Fabuleux mare Attraction Fatale and is a half-sister to stakes-placed Saratoga Prince. (by Saratoga Six). Arosa Farms purchased her from Cameron Training Centre, agent.
The filly was a $30,000 buy-back when she was consigned by Spring Farm to last year's Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July select yearling sale. Prior to the auction at Woodbine, she worked an eighth of a mile in :11 1/5, the fastest time for the distance.
In all, 25 juveniles were sold for a gross of $457,149 ($628,000) and an average of $18,286 ($25,120). The buy-back rate was 45.7%, with 21 of the 46 horses offered failing to find new homes.
Last year, 23 horses were sold for a gross of $594,700 in Canadian funds and an average of $25,857 in Canadian funds. The buy-back rate was 62.9%.
