Affirmed Back at Jonabell Following Surgery

Jonabell Farm announced that Affirmed arrived back at the farm Oct. 26 and is expected to make a full recovery from ankle surgery and be ready for the start of the 2001 breeding season.
The 25-year-old Triple Crown winner has his left front ankle fused by Dr. Larry Bramlage on Oct. 6. Bramlage realigned the joint, Affirmed's discomfort caused by a chronic condition that had caused ligament damage to the back of his pastern.
In a release from the farm, Jonabell manager Jimmy Bell said, "We are extremely encouraged by Affirmed's progress. Dr. Bramlage is optimistic about the success of the procedure."
