Cape Canaveral, who has sired 10 stakes winners from his first three crops, has been purchased for stallion duty at Highfield Stock Farm near Okotoks, Alberta, Canada.

An 11-year-old son of Mr. Prospector, Cape Canaveral formerly stood at the Young family's Overbrook Farm near Lexington. He was a graded stakes winner for Overbrook founder William T. Young.

Cape Canaveral   has sired such multiple stakes winners as New York graded winners Magnolia Jackson and Megascape. A stakes winner this year, Magnolia Jackson has won 10 of 20 races and earned $536,598. Cape Canaveral also is represented by Canadian stakes winner Roving Angel.

A full brother to champion Golden Attraction and half-brother to grade I winner Cape Town, Cape Canaveral is out of the grade I-winning Seattle Slew mare Seaside Attraction.

Cape Canaveral, whose purchase was made in anticipation of the opening of the new track Balzac Alberta, has career progeny earnings of $6.4 million. His fee will be announced later.
