Lantana Mob won the Sapling (gr. 3) at Monmouth Park last month.
Vinery Stables’ Lantana Mob looks for his fourth victory as a juvenile when a field of 10 line up for the $250,000 Favorite Trick Breeders’ Cup Stakes at Monmouth Park Oct. 26.

An event for 2-year-old sprinters going six furlongs, the Favorite Trick will immediately precede the inaugural Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, which kicks off the World Championships in New Jersey.

By Posse, out of Copelan mare Lantana, Lantana Mob is the lone entry with a graded stakes win to his credit, that coming Sept. 2 in the Sapling Stakes (gr. III) at Monmouth. He won by 3 1/2 lengths in that effort. Since then, Lantana Mob tried the Champagne Stakes (gr. I) at Belmont Oct. 6, finishing a well-beaten fourth.

Trained by Steve Asmussen, Lantana Mob has another victory over the Monmouth dirt, a 1 1/2-length triumph in the 5 1/2-furlong Tyro Stakes. Robby Albarado will ride the 3-1 favorite and leave from post two.

Crafty Prospector colt West Coast Coach will be looking to take the next step after starting his career with back-to-back scores. Trained by James DiVito, who is also part owner, West Coast Coach broke his maiden by 2 1/2 lengths at Arlington Park in July, setting the Polytrack record for five furlongs in :57.76. He then shipped to Iowa, where he won the Prairie Meadows Freshman Stakes by stalking the pace.

Camelia Casby’s homebred Law Enforcement has two wins in three starts to begin his career. Bred in New York, the Posse colt won a maiden special weight at Belmont and then went to Finger Lakes and took the Aspirant Stakes by 7 1/2 lengths Sept. 3. Most recently, Law Enforcement, trained by Mark Hennig, was second in the New York Breeders’ Futurity, another New York-restricted stakes at Finger Lakes.

It will be interesting to see how Officer Frank responds in his second start. The Officer colt’s debut was extremely impressive at Arlington Park Sept. 16, as he won by nine lengths while setting the 5 1/2 furlong Polytrack record in 1:03.10. Michael Reavis trains for Rat Pack.

Also in the field are Cobra Strike, Margo’s Gift, Run Sully Run, Tide Dancer, Indy Joe, and Jazz Nation. Post time is 3:50 p.m. EDT.
