Bobby Frankel won't be on hand to saddle his Breeders' Cup horses.
The main reason trainer Bobby Frankel is able to attend to his ill dog back in California and not make it to the Breeders' Cup World Championships is his fantastic staff of assistants who are able to step in and run the show.

At Monmouth Park, that job belongs to Chad Brown, a 28-year-old native of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., who got into horses at an early age at the upstate New York track. Brown will be busy Oct. 27 saddling Stonerside Stables' Argentina in the Emirates Airline Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT); Ken and Sarah Ramsey's Precious Kitten, who is also entered in that race; and Stronach Stables' Ginger Punch in the Emirates Airline Distaff (gr. I).

Brown said he was able to work closely with Frankel this summer while the Hall of Fame trainer was headquartered at Belmont Park. Brown has a string of 40 starters in his shedrow and relishes the chance to work with the Frankel horses.

Brown mentioned that Ginger Punch may have run back a bit too soon into the Beldame (gr. I), when she ran third to Unbridled Belle, and expects a better effort with the four-week break to the Distaff.

Expect another rising star in Brown, especially if he gets to enter the winner's circle Saturday with one of the Frankel runners.
