Senor Swinger Works Toward Preakness; Congaree Also On-Track

Senor Swinger, winner of the Crown Royal American Turf (gr. III) on the Kentucky Oaks card, breezed five furlongs in 1:00 1/5 Monday at Churchill Downs as he continued to work toward Saturday's Preakness Stakes (gr. I) at Pimlico.Working in company with another horse trained by Bob Baffert, the El Prado colt was ridden by exercise rider Dana Barnes. "He worked really well," Barnes said.Baffert, who also sent out Congaree to breeze Monday, said, "They slowed the track down today so that was really good work (by Senor Swinger) but it speeded up quite a bit when Congaree went out."Congaree, who is being pointed toward Belmont Park's Metropolitan Handicap, worked seven furlongs in 1:24 2/5.Senor Swinger is one of 10 horses listed as probable starters in the Preakness.
