Tattersalls’ largest-ever autumn horses in training sale begins Oct. 29 at 9.30 a.m. with a total of 1,613 lots in the catalog. The sale runs through Nov. 1.
Last year’s 430,000-guineas top lot, 4-year-old Purple Moon, was originally bought by owner Craig Bennett as a jumping prospect but has reverted to the flat and is a leading contender for the Melbourne Cup (Aus-I).
Yellowstone, a late entry to the sale owned by Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith, and Susan Magnier, is likely to be one of this year’s top lots. The 3-year-old son of Rock Of Gibraltar won the Gordon Stakes (Eng-III) at Goodwood and finished second in the Great Voltigeur Stakes (Eng-II) at York.
Strike The Deal, who finished fourth Oct. 26 in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, is still listed as entered in the sale but is expected to be offered at Tattersalls’ December sale.
Four-year-old Asset, a consistent horse with high-class group and listed form, is offered by Highclere Thoroughbred Racing from Richard Hannon’s stable.
