With the additions of Kissin Saint and Alysweep, the field for the 128th Preakness Stakes is now up to 10, with several others also eyeing the race.
Lisa Lewis informed the Pimlico racing office this morning that Kissin Saint, third in the Wood Memorial, definitely will run in the second leg of the Triple Crown, and that Richard Migliore will be aboard.
Earlier in the day, Alysweep, runner-up in the May 3 Withers Stakes, was officially added to the field. Jorge Chavez, who won his first race Saturday since returning from an injury suffered in the Florida Derby, will ride the son of End Sweep, who is trained by Patrick Reynolds. Alysweep captured the Gotham Stakes and Fred Capossela Stakes on the inner track Aqueduct.
The Preakness field consists of Funny Cide, Peace Rules, Senor Swinger, Indian Express, Scrimshaw, Midway Road, Cherokee's Boy, Champali, Alysweep, and Kissin Saint.
Foufa's Warrior, third in the Illinois Derby and Crown Royal American Turf, is a possible starter.
