Kingmambo, who has stood his entire career at William S. Farish's Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky., will stand for $250,000 in 2008. The 17-year-old son of Mr. Prospector once commanded a fee as high as $300,000.

Kingmambo, whose runners have earned $76 million, is enjoying another fine year internationally. A daughter, Light Shift, won the classic Vodafone Epsom Oaks (Eng-I), and his 5-year-old son Student Council captured the Pacific Classic Stakes (gr. I) at Del Mar. Most recently, his 2-year-old son Thewayyouare won the Criterium International (Fr-I). Kingmambo also is represented this year by another group winner in England and one in both France and Ireland.

In the Report of Mares Bred issued recently by The Jockey Club, Kingmambo covered 65 mares in 2007. Farish estimates the stallion will cover about the same number of mares next year, or maybe about 10 more. Kingmambo's book already includes recently retired grade I winner Honey Ryder.

Out of the champion Nureyev mare Miesque, Kingmambo has sired 73 stakes winners, including Eclipse Award winner and fellow Lane's End stallion Lemon Drop Kid  .
