Dynever Heads Lone Star Derby Field

Dynever, the easy winner of the $250,000 Aventura Stakes at Gulfstream Park in his last start, drew post five in a field of 13 3-year-olds for Saturday's $500,000 Lone Star Derby (gr. III) at Lone Star Park.

Trained by Christophe Clement and ridden by Edgar Prado, Dynever has won twice in three starts and boasts $176,520 in career earnings. The Kentucky-bred son of Dynaformer is using the 1 1/8-mile race as a steppingstone to the Belmont Stakes on June 7.

Others in the field include Hollywood Juvenile Championship winner Crowned Dancer, Arlington-Washington Futurity hero Most Feared, California Derby champ Mr. Technique and 2002 Texas-bred Horse of the Year Leo's Last Hurrahy.
