The Board of Directors of North American Pari-Mutuel Regulators Association (NAPRA) have agreed to hold the 2004 Spring Business Meeting in New Orleans in conjunction with the Association of Racing Commissioners International (RCI) convention.

The two groups will conduct separate Board and General Membership meetings; however, panels, guest speakers and certain committee meetings will be featured jointly.

"We had proposed to hold this first joint conference in a non-member jurisdiction, as originally discussed, but RCI remained committed to New Orleans. The Board determined that meeting at a site of RCI's choosing was not enough to derail this important endeavor. If this works out as well as we think it will, perhaps the next one can be at a site of our choosing," said Gene Olander, Chairman of the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission and President of NAPRA.

NAPRA will conduct its Fall Convention in Saskatoon September 20-23, 2003, hosted by the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority.

"As is always the case, we are inviting all regulatory jurisdictions and industry representatives to our Convention. This will be a great opportunity to work on some of the details for our New Orleans meeting," said Frank Lamb, Executive Director of NAPRA.
