A filly by Redoute's Choice brought Aus$110,000 Monday to top the Magic Millions national weanling sale, which recorded its highest-ever gross revenue of Aus$2,025,450. The average for the Australian auction was Aus$11,190 for the 181 horses sold.
The top-priced filly was produced from the Northern Spring mare Pine Baby and is a half-sister to stakes winner Poppett. G.I. and K.E. Warfield purchased the filly from Pine Lodge Thoroughbreds, agent.
"Vendors and buyers should both be congratulated on a really strong sale today," said David Chester, Magic Millions' managing director. "The clearance rate (86.2%) was brilliant, about 13% higher than a similar sale in Sydney last week. The quality weanlings today sold extremely well. Buyers had the ability to take their pick from a wide range of youngsters on offer."
