Aqueduct canceled racing Jan. 30 due to high winds.

With the forecast calling for a severe winter storm, Aqueduct’s live racing card for Feb. 22, has been canceled. All but one of the canceled races will be brought back as extra events later in the meet.

The forecast for Queens, NY., called for snow in the morning Feb. 22, then snow mixing with rain and sleet in the afternoon. An accumulation 2-4 inches is expected, with a 90% chance of precipitation.

Aqueduct will still be open for simulcasting. Gates open at 11:30 a.m. (EST), with free parking and admission.

Racing is to resume Feb. 23 with the featured 36th running of the $75,000-added Rare Treat Handicap for fillies and mares at nine furlongs on the inner dirt track. First race post is 12:30 p.m. (EST).
