Daughter of Danehill Tops First Session of Australian Broodmare Sale

The opening session of the Australian broodmare sale kicked off at Newmarket Tuesday, with 170 horses selling for a gross of Aus$9,957,500 and an average price of Aus$58,574.
The unreserved dispersal of the Newhaven Park Stud broodmares added further depth to this year's catalogue. Forty-five Newhaven mares were sold for a gross of Aus$3,080,500 and an average of Aus$68,455.
The highest price of the opening session was Aus$725,000 for the multiple stakes-winning mare Dandify. The daughter of Danehill earned Aus$752,020 during her racing career. Offered not in foal, Dandify was purchased by Nemeris Lodge from Invermien Pty. Ltd.
