Weather Service Calling for Oaks/Derby Rain

According to the 10-day forecast from The National Weather Service, it is a good thing we already know that Empire Maker can run on an off track.
The Kentucky Derby (gr. I) favorite won the Wood Memorial (gr. I) on a muddy surface. The weather forecasters are calling for wet conditions in Louisville, Ky., site of the May 2 Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) and May 3 Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs.
Currently, the extended view is for thunderstorms on Oaks Day and a high of 73. The following day, the forecast is calling for a high of 76 and a 60% chance of rain.
