Trainer Christophe Clement indicated to Calder racing secretary Bob Umphrey Wednesday morning that he plans to let Moyglare Stud's 4-year-old filly Dress To Thrill accept the high weight assignment of 122 pounds for Saturday's $150,000 Calder Breeders' Cup Handicap.
The 4-year-old Irish-bred filly would be making her season debut and first start since a head decision over Eclipse champion Golden Apples in the Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes at Hollywood Park on Dec. 1. Jockey Jose Santos will have the mount.
A small but very high class field of seven or eight fillies and mares are likely to go to the post in the 1 1/16 miles turf test, including Santa Cruz Ranch's Stay Forever and Bitterroot Investments' Cellars Shiraz, the resident stars in their division.
