Brick Campaign Begins at Churchill Downs

Churchill Downs is offering fans a chance to be a part of its history – and its future. The Churchill Downs Brick Campaign, launched April 22, will allow individuals to engrave their names on the grounds of Churchill Downs to be seen for generations to come. All proceeds will benefit the Churchill Downs Foundation.

Approximately 25,000 bricks in the large plaza area outside the main entrances of the racetrackand the Kentucky Derby Museum will be available for inscription by Stone Concepts LLC.

Two sizes of bricks – 51/2" x 9" red brick pavers and 12" x 12" pavers – can be purchased to etch a name and short message. The smaller bricks cost $100, and messages can include up to three lines with up to 12 characters per line.

Individuals can purchase and inscribe bricks while supplies last, though they won't be able to designate the placement of their bricks. Interested parties can order bricks by printing, completing and mailing the online brochure (at www.churchilldowns.com/about/brick_campaign.pdf) or by calling 502.638.3929. A special booth, set up on the Gate 1 plaza just off Central Avenue, will also take orders during Derby Week.

Each order includes a special certificate from Churchill Downs in recognition of the individual's participation and a map showing the location of his or her brick. In addition, buyers can order replicas of their bricks (51/2" x 9" only) for $50. Orders will be taken on first-come, first-served basis.

Through the fundraiser, the Foundation seeks to raise upwards of $1 million to continue its support of charitable services and organizations.
