Homewrecker, dam of five stakes winners, was euthanized July 1 because of the infirmities of old age. The 25-year-old daughter of Buckaroo was owned by Edward P. Evans, who bred and raced her.

“Her quality of life had reached such a point that it was best to euthanize her,” said Chris Baker, manager of Evans’ Spring Hill Farm near Casanova, Va.

Homewrecker’s stakes-winning contingent consisted of grade I winner Prenup (by Smarten), grade II winner Cat’s At Home (by Tabasco Cat), grade III winners Giant Wrecker (by Giant’s Causeway) and Honor the Hero (by Hero’s Honor), plus non-graded winner Capitalimprovement (by Dixieland Band).

Overall, Homewrecker produced 13 foals, seven of which were winners. As a race filly, Homewrecker placed in four starts.

Three of Homewrecker’s daughters are broodmares for Evans. Marital Spook, dam of three stakes winners, is the dam of a 2008 Giant’s Causeway filly and is not in foal. Record the Call, a stakes producer, produced a Stormy Atlantic   colt this year and is in foal to E Dubai. Triangle is the dam of a 2008 Langfuhr   colt and is in foal to Kipling  .

Martial Spook’s stakes winners include grade I winner Yonaguska and grade III winner Halo Homewrecker. Yonaguska stands at Tom Simon’s Vinery near Lexington.

Homewrecker, who was out of Execution (by The Axe II), is buried at Spring Hill.
