General Challenge, prepping for a comeback at age seven, worked six furlongs under Dana Barnes in a bullet 1:11 Wednesday at Santa Anita for trainer Bob Baffert.
The General Meeting gelding, who is owned by Golden Eagle Farm, is expected to start in the $150,000 Tiznow Stakes at 7 ½ furlongs at Hollywood on April 26. He has not raced since finishing fourth behind Skimming in the 2000 Pacific Classic.
The 1999 Pacific Classic (gr. I) winner at 3 returned to the Santa Anita work tab on Feb. 1 for Baffert after an absence of 19 months.
