Concerto Filly Among Fastest Workers For OBS April Sale

A filly by Concerto and Easy Swinger, a colt by Minister's Mark, worked quarter miles in :21 1/5 Wednesday to post the fastest times at the distance during the first session of the under tack show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's April sale of 2-year-olds in training. The Concerto filly, the first horse to breeze in the morning, is out of Carol's Sparkle (by Jaycean), a half sister to stakes-placed Carol's Echo. Easy Swinger is out of Dance Naturally (by Sword Dance), a half sister to stakes-placed Stu's a Natural. Both youngsters are consigned by Shadybrook Farm, Inc. (Michael Yates), agent.A pair of youngsters consigned by Don R. Graham and Ocala Oaks Inc. shared honors for the session's fastest eighth, each stopping the timer in :10 1/5. One is a filly by Cape Town out of Changing Fortunes (by Spend a Buck), a half sister to stakes winner Daniel My Brother. The other is a Forest Wildcat filly out of stakes winner Clever Kat (by Comet Kat). A filly by Southern Halo out of Costa (by Mt. Livermore) posted the session's fastest three-eighths breeze, getting the distance in :34 1/5. Consigned by Ricky Leppala, agent, the chestnut filly is out of a daughter of stakes winner Power Bidder.The under tack show continues Thursday morning at 9 a.m. EDT) The sale is scheduled to run from April 22 through April 25.
