The New York Breeders’ Sales Co. has cataloged 400 mares and weanlings, along with 16 stallion seasons, for its fall breeding stock sale. The auction will be held Oct. 12 at Saratoga in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
There will be a select session of 139 New York-bred weanlings. They include foals by Lion Heart, Medaglia d’Oro, Proud Citizen, Forest Danger, Lemon Drop Kid , Macho Uno , Broken Vow , Read the Footnotes, Orientate , Pure Prize, Quiet American, Hook and Ladder, Bernstein, Fusaichi Pegasus , Dehere, Eurosilver, Chapel Royal, City Zip , Value Plus, Congaree , Consolidator, and Not For Love. There also are weanings from the first crops of stallions such as Artie Schiller, Bandini, Bellamy Road, Da Stoops, and Good Reward.
“This year’s select weanling session has attracted a very solid group of babies,” said Todd Venetz, the New York Breeders’ Sales Co.’s general manager and director of sales. “The long-awaited arrival of VLTs in New York, which are anticipated to be installed by the end of next year, will dramatically affect the earning potential of every weanling being sold in this sale.”
